About the Cooking Measurement Converter
Recipes travel further than measuring cups do. An American recipe asks for cups and sticks, a British one for millilitres and grams, an Australian one for a 250 ml cup and a Japanese one for a 200 ml cup. This converter puts the common kitchen measures side by side so you can cook from any of them with whatever is in your drawer.
The tool converts volume, which is exactly right for liquids and reliable enough for loose dry goods. Baking is the exception: a cup of flour can weigh anywhere from 120 to 150 grams depending on how it is scooped, so for bread and pastry a kitchen scale beats any conversion. For everything else, the numbers here are the ones printed on nutrition labels and standard measuring spoons.
